I have no idea where to get it or how to use it. There isn't one bot out there for Q2 that's gonna do all the things that a human opponent might do with movement, item control, and situational weapon selection.įrom what little I've seen of bots, the gladiator bots seem to be the best one out there. it's always preferable to play against human opponents. Not knocking that server at all, it's a great addition to the network for times when no one's on and you just HAVE to play. The skill settings on most bots really doesn't effect their weapon selection, defensive spam, or anything else. and they keep running away the whole time. Unfortunately what it means to have a tougher game against bots in Q2 is that you jack up their 'skill' setting which really only effects how ridiculously accurate they are with their shots like when they are running AWAY FROM you, you round a corner behind them, and they instantly flick 180degrees and nail you with a railgun. I'm not sure on the specific technicals of it, but it seems like because the technology that produced Quake2 was so unadvanced, the intelligence levels of any bots for Q2 is gonna be pretty awful.
